Finuval Plain: Sifting through the aftermath

The battle of Finuval Plain was now a few days ago, and I've had some time to recover from what was a pretty hectic day (and a fairly frenetic lead-up to it, as well). Of course, now I am left to sort through the notes and photos we took, and try to make heads or tails of the game. For a normal game of 2500 points or so, this is not a big deal. When there is 10 times that much stuff on the table, it's a lot of work. So you will have to bear with me as I get moving and start to put the battle report together. As with Hel Fenn, it will doubtless be posted a bit at a time as I make progress. In the meantime, here are a few teaser photos (I took over 550 pictures, though not all of them worked out as I might have hoped).

Still setting up... What a mess.
The big gribblies involved in the battle. Dragons and Hydras and Phoenixes, oh my!
The duel at the start of the battle: Prince Tyrion vs Urian Poisonblade
And a bit of a snapshot of the action. Yes, that is 7 Hydras, all in a row.
As well as his army, Hamish brought along some beautiful scenery, some of which we were able to make use of.
You may also notice that I have shifted the menus across to the left. This is to hopefully allow me to post some bigger pictures without everything crashing into itself. It's like progress!

  1. Huzzah! A spectacle of great an imposing might! I see Mr. Gentile wore his battle shorts for the occasion.

  2. Looking epic! And I see someone has used a Forgeworld carmine dragon- any chance of some close ups? I have it myself, but am a bit daunted by the size of the project...

    1. I'm afraid that I don't have any specific close-ups of the carmine dragon, and the model has returned to its owner. It belongs to Meals from over at http://thewanderingwargamer.blogspot.com. You could try waking him from his blogging slumber, as it's been very neglectful of him not to put up pics of it already...

    2. Hmm can't seem to find it... Maybe his blog died of neglect?
