I actually did quite well this month. I got onto my target pretty early on, and it meant that I had the bandwidth to cheat that bonus steam tank into my growing Nuln army. That was a nice feeling, and it's led to me trying to get a running start on my September target as well. Anyway, here's the stuff I painted that actually counts:
My first Engineer mounted on a War Wagon. I might need to go back and do something to the barrel of the grenade launcher. It's a bit of a mess. But it could be one of those things that's really just a problem in the photo.
This Wagon (and the horses) is from Norba Miniatures. It's a LOT bigger than the ones I've been painting up until now. Admittedly it's squeezed onto a 100x50mm base, and will look less over-sized once it's on an adapter. I mangled the model a bit to make the platform at the front for the Engineer. The bits were meant to be for a roof. I added the shields as well, to give me a chance to add some more accent colours.
The crew are again Magori ones. I had the Norba ones, but I decided they were not quite the right style for what I wanted. This is now 4 War Wagons I have with the same crew models, so no more. I will use something else for any future ones. The Engineer is a GW plastic model with a dodgy weapon swap for the grenade launcher (which he probably stole from an Outrider).
It's so roomy in there. This is definitely the luxury model of War Wagon.
The other thing I did in order to round out my month was 8 more Halberdiers, to add to the unit of 20 I already painted in an earlier month.
Here they are slapped together to make a group of 28. I have further Halberdier plans - all things going well, you'll see the plans fully fleshed out at the end of September.
Sean
Sean is the one other participant who has consistently completed things every month, and he's continued that momentum here.
5 Screamers, looking very lovely with their bright colours and actually completed bases (hooray!)
3 Fiends of Slaanesh, also on properly finished bases.
Pete
I showed Pete's Mortis Engine last month, but it's now complete with a Necromancer. This is now the first thing Pete has actually completed for the challenge. Maybe he'll do something more. I guess we'll see.
A completed Mortis Engine!
The Necromancer is actually an Empire death wizard from Last Sword (I think she's inspired by Elspeth von Draken - I have her sitting on a Dragon). But she makes a pretty good stylish Necromancer.
Pete went to the trouble of detailing the books a fair bit, although the Banshees were already in place and make it annoying (I was there for all the cursing).
Everyone Else...
Not a lot to show elsewhere, unfortunately. I think at this point we can admit that a few are not ever going to get moving. Tim did do some painting, but is addicted to leaving everything half-finished, so there's nothing ready to report here. He's also having far too much fun creating 3d printable abominations that we will presumably see on here eventually. We shall see.
